Ex BF on the VR, you can see the Hitachi Superscan Elite 20 as my main monitor, this was one of the things that I got in that huge trade. It has all the benefits of the Gateway 2000, without any of the geometry issues / color issues / etc etc etc. It's probably THE best CRT I own. It ways a fucking ton though, just like the Gateway 2000

Duel Monitor setup with the IBM, and the Gateway 2000 that I had got a hold of in college. This CRT was great but had a good share of issues. The controls for they display geometry were broken. I was able to fix them a bit, but some of the buttons needed to be completely replaced and I didn't really have room to solder at my mom's, so the geometry was always just a bit off, but if you would keep pushing the auto adjust button sometimes it would get close enough. This monitor had an absurd range of resolutions it would allow.

Playin teh famicom on my Zenith. I lived near a radio station antenna, so sometimes people talking or music would bleed through the game BGM since the famicom required a tv channel that is not too far from the frequency bands that we have radio stations on.

Running Enlightenment16 on my Satellite Pro 460CDX, which did quite well. I was impressed by the reflection effects and animations on this desktop environment.

Ended up moving that old desk behind me to make a bit of a U desk. Around this time, the PSU for my computer completely crapped out so I had to RMA and get a new one. When it arrive, not only did the new one suspiciously smell of cigarette smoke, but it also revealed to me that my old PSU had taken my motherboard with it, and I had to get a new one. So I kinda just had my old Inspiron 1545 perma hooked up and was using it. Around this time I also ended up using my thinkpad t61 in the same manor for a while, but It was my linux machine. Although I had been tinkering with linux for some time on spare computers, this is when I really started to fall in love with it as an operating system.

CRT's!! I had recently traded a friend for this nice IBM C220P Trinitron. It had a really nice picture, and a decent range of resolution it could do.

Funky little closet setup. I initially wanted to have this as some sort of server and media center setup, so it was connect to the phat projection screen tv in the living room, as well as having it's own monitors. This didn't really end up happening because we had a friend at the time move in out of a desperate situation, and it just kinda became their little desk area.

This little monitor was neat because it could rotate into a vertical mode on it's stand, and it also could take composite signal, as well as do picture in picture mode with that composite signal. So here I am testing that out with a Playstation playing wipeout.

First version of my setup at my first apartment. I couldn't move a lot from my mom's house at the time, so I had to do it little by little, this was just the essentials. I literally was just sitting on my mattress on the floor, pulled up to this coffee table with my computer stuff on it. When I was done computing for the night I would just lay down, kinda depressing.

My Birthday Setup picture! You can see this version of the setup fully realized and organized. Also showing my tape collection, I suppose some old otaku died and I bought a good chunk of their anime tapes at a local goodwill. The blue collar hick woman tried to make small talk about how "I sure loved cartoons" when I and my friends were checking out. One of these not pictured tapes that my friends and I bought (and I later ended up getting from them) was just straight up hentai, like not even kidding. It was called Dragon Pink

This was the first time I had moved my pc anywhere so I was shitting brix the whole time while we were driving to his house.

There, I cleaned it lmao. I also was given this really nice sony trinitron for a graduation gift. It has a wonderful picture for older games, but yeah, I was definitely pushing the CRT limit. Around this time I was making my desktop theming much more minimalistic, my wallpaper was litterally just grey.

Picture I took so I could larp on /g/ like I was posting from this laptop. I couldn't :/, the thing didn't have ethernet or any pcmcia ethernet cards, and all the pcmcia wifi cards were 16 bit, thus incompatible.

I don't really know what got into me on this day, but I had a super manic moment and decided that I wanted spend all day to tear my desk down to just the desk surface parts, and just use half of it? I also haphazardly shoved a bunch of stuff in my closet. Maybe this was suppose to be temporary.

The room again just slightly rearranged. Couldn't make up my mind. Rockn my Microsoft Wheel Mouse, those quakers would be proud. Also rocking my beat to hell and back 2013 blackwidow ultimate. That keyboard went from my friend who was a heavy OSU player (on top of normal use) for many years, to me, also a heavy OSU player then heavy stepmania player (on top of normal use) for many years, and then to my little brother who was ALSO, a heavy stepmania player (on top of normal use). That thing went through like 10 years of abuse and still working fine despite it being super worn out cosmetically, what a tank!

Here is my room slightly moved around, for some reason during this time period of a few years I found my self rearranging my room every couple months. I guess I was a bit fickle, but it was also for some reason a bit therapeutic. I liked walking into my room looking a bit different, I felt like it kept my mind fresh.

This was the other side of my room in the last setup, you can seem my little game collection which had grown a little bit. I was pretty psyched that I could have all the consoles hooked up at once via these passive composite switcher boxes, which those things had all kinds of signal loss and interference issues. The TV I had at the time also had some shielding issues, because you could hear the data streaming in and making clicking noises in it's speakers just before the text would hit my phone. The power cable was all gorked and was just a ball off electrical tape beeping it from shorting out. I loved that thing!

Me old High-school chum graduated and moved out, so I had a lot more room to set up. I decided to mount that TV above and use my 16X10, and this 16x9 (1080) display that recently gotten from a friend and repaired a dead capacitor in (or maybe he did I can't remember) for the bottom 2. You can also see my beige Dell quiet key, I loved how the keys felt on that keyboard despite them being dome switches, they were really nice.

One of my first more traditional setups, taken right after I built my first modern PC. It was an i3-4130 with 8 GB of ram, and ofc no GPU just integrated graphics X-X. I was using a 32 inch 720p (via VGA) phat LCD TV as my main monitor, and my beloved 16x10 as my secondary. That TV could do 1080 thru HDMI but had this horrible nauseating latency that just could not bear.

Duel Monitors!! It blew my mind that you could do this once I found out, I felt like a mad scientist. I had gotten this 16x10 (1680x1050) display recently from and old childhood friend. You can also just barely see the mouse I had at the time, which was this IBM mouse that was shaped nice, but if you moved it too quickly it would cause the cursor (or in game camera) to start spinning violently.

This was a fairly new laptop that I was given by my aunt after she upgraded from this "broken" one. The only issue with it was windows was corrupted, so I put a fresh install on and it was good to go. This was a dell Inspiron 1545, so it was much more powerful then anything I had and could just BAAAARRREELY play fallout 3. I remember beating the first portal game on this thing with the trackpad alone, Trying times!

First 'BattleStation' pic that I had taken, which was the first computer that was completely mine, a frankenstined HP Compaq Presario 2500, that I found amongst E-waste at a local computer shop. The guy let me have it along a few other things for free! I affectionately called it my 'Laptype' after butchering calling it a laptop in a conversation.
Before this point, I had used the family computer for all my needs
